Please join the Veterans Day Council of Indianapolis in celebrating Veterans Day Sunday, November 10,
2024 and Monday, November 11, 2024.

Veterans Day Reception:
The Veterans Day Reception & Awards Day begin with a 5:00 P.M. reception, followed by awards at 6:00
P.M. at the Indiana War Memorial, located at 55 E. Michigan Street.

Then, join us Monday, November 11, 2024 for Veterans Day Service and parade.

Veterans Day Service:
North steps of the Indiana War Memorial
10:30 a.m. – Musical Prelude by the 38th Division Band of the Indiana National Guard. Includes patriotic
music played from World War I, World War II and Korean War eras.
11:00a.m. – Veterans Day Service includes special guest speakers, wreath laying, flyover performed by
the Indiana Air National Guard, tolling of the U.S.S. Indianapolis bell in tribute to the victories and proud
military service of each war era involving US Armed Forces.

Veterans Day Parade:
12:00p.m. – Parade step-off starts at Michigan & Pennsylvania St. The route is south on Pennsylvania
Ave., west on New York St., and then north on Meridian St. The route is based around the Legion Mall
and Indiana War Memorial. Parade ends at Meridian & St. Clair. Veterans Day in Indianapolis is observed
with a Veterans Day Breakfast, a Veterans Day Service, and a Parade. The Veterans Day Council’s charge
has not changed since it was organized in the 1960s: to appropriately recognize the Veterans of Indiana
so that their deeds and sacrifices will not be forgotten.

Parking: Parking in the downtown area around the Indiana War Memorial on Veterans Day during the
daytime is very limited. Please plan to arrive early. The mail entrance to the War Memorial is on
Michigan Street. There are also surface lots and parking garages within walking distance of both the War
Memorial and the Soldiers & Sailors Monument.
